Institute of Documentary Film (IDF) invites the whole international community of documentary professionals to its inaugural East Doc Platform industry programme in March, 2012. For the first time in Prague, Czech Republic, IDF opens as late of industry events aimed at projects in all stages of completion - development, production, post-production as well as completed films from Central and Eastern Europe. Only accredited professionals with a valid pass may enter East Doc Platform industry programme and enjoy networking opportunities with talented East European filmmakers and major players in the field.

 

East Doc Platform is organized by the Institute of Documentary Film in association with the One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival. Further details about the East Doc Platform can be found HERE. 

 

The first edition of East Doc Platform offers a brand new set of IDF’s staple events: 

 

EAST EUROPEAN FORUM

Starting in 2012, Prague becomes the seat of the region's largest meeting of East European documentary filmmakers with Europe's and North America´s leading commissioning editors, distributors, buyers and film fund representatives. A number of directors and independent producers are selected to offer their projects for co-production, pre-sale or other forms of financial support.

DOC LAUNCH PRESENTATION

Doc Launch presentation annually introduces 8-9 handpicked feature-length documentaries from Central and Eastern Europe. Festival programmers, distributors, sales agents, members of the press and audiences get the first glimpse of films in post-production slated for theatrical release over the next year.

 

EAST SILVER VIDEOLIBRARY

The presence of the unique documentary market, dedicated exclusively to completed films from Central and Eastern Europe, has expanded! The new East Silver Videolibrary in Prague is the spring round of the East Silver market, bringing new insights in the region’s production through the extended selection of new documentary releases. It enables East Silver team to strengthen the year-round documentary support and access to fresh documentary titles from Eastern Europeto a broad circle of film professionals - broadcasters, film festival representatives, distributors and sales agents.

If you are interested in taking part in the East Doc Platform industry programme, organized by the Institute of Documentary Film in Prague, do not hesitate to apply for the Industry accreditation. The deadline for sending the application is February 9, 2012.

This accreditation is designed for documentary professionals who would like to attend the industry programme and networking events and do not have a project at the East European Forum, Doc Launch Presentation, or a film in the East Silver Videolibrary.

The Industry Accreditation costs CZK 750 / EUR 30 (to be paid in cash at our Industry Guest Service desk in Prague) and includes entry for One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival.
